RIBA 2017 Project Architect of the Year - Yorkshire. Adam Cornish has established himself as an authority on design and technical issues within the office. His work encompasses the full breadth of work undertaken by the practice, including mixed-use and sustainable housing developments, notably the multi-award winning Derwenthorpe, and the Chocolate Works development.
Colin DavisBA(hons) DipArch RIBADirector
Colin is an experienced architect who has been involved at Studio Partington since its formation in 1998, during which time he has completed a large number of significant residential, commercial, and masterplanning projects. More recently Colin has been working on the Camden Road redevelopment for City of London, which includes the conversion of a late 19th century church, and is currently developing the design and construction of Putney Plaza; a £33m mixed-use, mixed-tenure high-rise scheme in London.
Victoria KirkBA(hons) MADirector & Practice Manager
Victoria has been involved with Studio Partington since 2001, administering and managing all aspects of the practice and supervising the financial affairs and internal organisation. Victoria oversees the marketing and promotion of SP, and has contributed to a number of our publications and guides. Originally trained in fashion and textiles design, illustration and printmaking, Victoria was awarded a Masters in Sustainable Textiles Design from Chelsea College of Arts.
Richard PartingtonMA(Cantab) DipArch RIBADirector
Richard is founder of Studio Partington and has expertise in low-energy design through research projects, urban planning and architecture. Recent work includes the widely-published and multi-award winning Derwenthorpe project in York for the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust; a headquarters and housing centre for newly formed Greenfields Community Housing; and a series of best practice guides for the NHBC Foundation. Richard is architect advisor to the Zero Carbon Hub and notably co-chaired the Hub's 'Design vs As-Built' steering group, set up to investigate the performance gap.
Marielle AssueBArch(hons) MScAssociate & Environmental Analyst
With qualifications in both Architecture and Environmental Design and Engineering, Marielle supports in-house architectural projects by carrying out daylighting assessments, renewable energy feasibility studies, Code for Sustainable Homes and SAP calculations. More recently Marielle contirbuted to the Part L 2013 guides, and Understanding Overheating for the NHBC Foundation. In addition, Marielle has worked on several major housing projects including Derwenthorpe and Chocolate Works.
Amber BowieBSc(hons) DipArch RIBAAssociate
Amber has worked at Studio Partington since 2013, primarily on the Terry’s Chocolate Works. More recently Amber has been working on Islington Arts Factory and a retrofit project for low energy homes. Amber gained her BSc in Architectural Design from the Cardiff University, and her Diploma from Kingston University.
Suzanne DavenportMA(Cantab) DipArch RIBAAssociate
Suzanne has worked at Studio Partington since joining in 2005 as Part 1 assistant. Suzanne has contributed to several publications, including the TAP Guides and the NHBC guide Homes Through the Decades. Suzanne has worked on a variety of residential schemes, from the Derwenthorpe masterplan, to smaller schemes including Morton Road for Islington Council, Hill Lane, and Landells Road.
Nick JonesBA(hons) DipArch RIBAAssociate
Since joining Studio Partington in 2007 Nick has gained experience in a variety of residential and commercial projects assisting on the landscaping and masterplan of the urban expansion to the historic village of Howden. Recently Nick has been involved with a number of new housing projects for Islington Council and is project architect on the redevelopment of Telfer House in Islington. Nick is also skilled in visual communication and holds an important role producing visualisations and renders.
Kevin BrennanBA(hons) BSc(hons) MSc RIBA RIAI ARB BreeamAPArchitect
Fully qualified architect and BREEAM Accredited Professional. Kevin joined Studio Partington in 2012, and has worked on a variety of projects including the detail and environmental design of Putney Plaza, as well as a number of smaller residential schemes in south London. Kevin has travelled extensively in Europe and North America, and has both studied and worked in New York.
Tom HoustonBA(hons) DipArch RIBAArchitect
Having joined the practice in March 2014, Tom has participated in the design and construction phase of several small housing schemes in South London including Southwark Bridge Road, Haydons Road and Peckham Road. More recently Tom has been working on the detail design and construction of Putney Plaza. Tom previously studied at the University of Cambridge, gaining a Diploma in Architecture, which was commended at the RIBA Presidents Silver Medals in 2002.
Tatiana JaraBA (Hons) MArch ARBArchitect
Tatiana has been working with Studio Partington since May 2017. She was previously an associate at MWAI where she worked for five years designing and delivering bespoke private projects and carrying out research work on the island of St Helena. She completed her studies at the Sheffield School of Architecture and obtained her professional diploma at the University of Westminster. At Studio Partington she is now involved in the delivery of the UK's first Energiesprong pilot scheme.
Maria MantikouBA(hons) DipArch MA RIBAArchitect
Maria joined Studio Partington in December 2016 as an experienced Part II assistant having worked on various commerical and residential schemes in London. In August 2017 Maria gained her RIBA Part III qualification from the The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. Maria studied Part I at the University of Plymouth and her diploma at Canterbury School of Architecture, UCA. She also holds an MA in Urban Design from UCA. As a Part I assistant Maria worked for the Hellenic Ministry of Culture on listed and UNESCO protected historic public projects in her homeland Rhodes, Greece.
Rachel StancliffeMA(hons) MArchArchitectural Assistant (Part II) & Administrative Assistant
Rachel joined Studio Partington in June 2014 to assist with administration and practice management. Having studied both Part I and Part II at the University of Edinburgh, Rachel is also a qualified architectural assistant and has been working on a variety of early masterplan proposals, including North Duffield and Copmanthorpe.
Hannah BassMEng DipArchArchitectural Assistant (Part II)
Hannah joined Studio Partington in September 2013, having graduated from the University of Nottingham with a MEng in Architecture and Environmental Design. She has primarily worked on Terry’s Chocolate Works and Holmewood House School in addition to writing the Development Brief for an extension of Copmanthorpe. Hannah recieved her diploma from London Metropolitan University, The Cass.
Fabienne BlundenBA(hons) MAArchitectural Assistant (Part II)
Fabienne joined Studio Partington in August 2016 having studied architecture at Plymouth University, where she graduated with a distinction in her Masters of Architecture and was nominated for the RIBA President's Silver Medal. Fabienne has been working on the Chocolate Works, a revised planning application for Camden Road and Brixton Hill pre-application for TLS Investments. Fabienne is also helping with administration and practice management making sure that everything is running smoothly. She will begin the Bristol UWE Part III course in January 2017.
Sally CollinsonMArchD MArchArchitectural Assistant (Part II)
Sally joined Studio Partington in September 2016 as an experienced Part II assistant having been involved with large-scale, urban and estate regeneration residential projects in London. She is currently part of the team working on construction drawings for Runnymede Campus. Sally studied Part I at the University of Edinburgh and Part 2 at Oxford Brookes University and was nominated for the RIBA President's Silver Medal in 2014. In 2011 Sally volunteered with Arkitrek undertaking a masterplan for an orangutan rehabilitation centre in rural Malaysia.
Tolulope EshoBA(hons) DipArchArchitectural Assistant (Part II)
Since joining Studio Partington in September 2015, Tolu has begun work on the community-led regeneration of Andover Estate and the construction phase of Peckham Road. Tolu gained his degree from Kingston University and his diploma from the University of East London.
Fay HuangBArch(Hons) MPhil(Cantab) Architectural Assistant (Part II)
Fay joined Studio Partington in October 2017 as a Part II Architectural Assistant. Fay gained her BArch from Southeast University, China and her MPhil in Architecture and Urban Design(Part II) from University of Cambridge, where she conducted a design/research project on High-density affordable housing in Shanghai, China. With her previous experience at World Heritage Centre, UNESCO and Urban Think-Tank, ETH Zurich, Fay has developed an interest in urban regeneration in historical context.

Ed joined Studio Partington in August 2015 and has begun work on the Student Housing at Runnymede. Ed gained his BSc from The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, and his diploma from London Met.
Stuart DarlingBA(hons)Architectural Assistant
Since joining Studio Partington in January 2013, Stuart has worked on a variety of projects, including Putney Plaza, Park Farm, Windsor Street and Terry’s Chocolate Works. Having studied a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Norwich School of Arts, Stuart then undertook his BA(Hons) (Part I) at Kingston University.
Charlotte HermannsBA (hons)Architectural Assistant (Part I)
Charlotte has joined Studio Partington in September 2017 as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant. She gained her BA in Architecture from Plymouth University in 2015 and has had diverse experience, including designing theatrical spaces for an entertainment company. At University Charlotte was chosen to partake in the construction of a traditional Japanese timber structure in Japan. Charlotte is interested how Architects can minimise impact on the natural environment and volunteered for a marine conservation project in Tanzania last year.
