From 1999 to 2008 we worked on a number of regeneration projects in Belfast. The projects represent a significant contribution to the regeneration of the city, repairing damage to the urban fabric and drawing together communities that had been torn apart by the Troubles. Many of the projects were situated on difficult infill sites; Studio Partington did a lot of work rejuvenating brownfield sites that had been derelict for years before developers like the Carvill Group and the Fold Housing Association made plans for their regeneration. In several cases, sites previously designated as ‘no-go’ areas were transformed into desirable neighbourhoods, representing the first steps towards a calmer and more integrated society in the troubled city of Belfast.
Dunmore Stadium won a RICS Award 2006 (Regeneration) for excellence in the built environment.
