Pear Tree Farm is located in Huntington, a village in South Staffordshire with a rich coal mining heritage to the south of Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The development is linear along the A34 leading to Stafford on the northern outskirts of Cannock. Historically, the site, which is approximately 1.6 hectares in size, was farmland and was never part of the former colliery site to the South.
The site comprises of two areas: an existing farmhouse (highlighted in red in the image below) and adjoining agricultural land, with a further house and outbuildings. The site has been in the same family ownership for multiple generations.
The proposal provides a high level of architectural intention and quality with the aim of leaving a legacy. The project sensitively considers the lasting impact of the development on its surroundings, neighbours, ecology, locality and the wider environment.
The proposal consists of 38 new homes comprising of 19 two bedroom houses (including 2 bungalows), 14 three bedroom and 5 four bedroom houses.
