The existing house, ‘Scatterpenny’, lies to the western end of the village of Bulmer within the Castle Howard estate, at the junction of Bulmer Hill and Wandales Lane.

The proposal is to extend the residential property within the existing building’s curtilage into a two storey extension to the south of the existing house to form an additional bedroom on the first floor and a study and garden store on the ground floor; a new kitchen and utility room at the ground floor along the northern boundary replacing in part an existing summer house; and the replacement/rebuilding of the existing double garage.
