Congratulations to Sophie Davies whose University of Bath all female team won second place in the InfraVision Think Tank for Sustainable Infrastructure 2025 inaugural competition!

Their project explores the regeneration of Derry/ Londonderry, Northern Ireland through innovative sustainable infrastructure, inspired by its Irish name Doire meaning oak grove. Sophie and team travelled to Paris InfraWeek to collect their award and connect with international students and professionals. Congratulations to the full team: Amy Thompson, Alice Kimpton, Caitlin Boeshart-Thomas, Caitlin Meier and Sophie Davies.

Jury comment:
We were impressed by the project’s courage in grappling with the legacy of war, asking how a city can be rebuilt not only physically but socially. Starting from the reality of deep divisions, it poses a vital question of how communities live together, and turns that political ambition into tangible spatial strategies. The careful attention to community needs and everyday encounters reflects a thoughtful and humane approach. It is an inspiring vision that treats infrastructure as common ground supporting reconciliation.
