Metropolitan Workshop x Studio Partington CASE STUDIES TOUR
Great day out, full of learning! This week we visited York with fellow Good Homes Alliance members Metropolitan Workshop LLP to view and revisit housing schemes including our The Chocolate Works – Terry’s (320 homes for David Wilson Homes, completed 2021), our Derwenthorpe (481 homes for Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, completed 2013–2019) and City of York’s first Passivhaus scheme Duncombe Square by Mikhail Riches completed 2025. Highlights included meeting Derwenthorpe Phase 1 residents, some of the first to move into the energy efficient scheme, discussing district heating network management with JRHT’s David Hemming and being shown around Duncombe Square and inside a 4-bed house by York City Council’s Zoe Dunn and Adam Harper.
