Accessible family home, designed around changing needs
Specialist disability contractor Freedom Living Solutions are underway with our design for an extensive accessible extension, ground floor refurbishment and accessible garden to a 1930s house in southeast London. The Freedom construction team is already on site with foundations for the new extension being prepared.
The design balances planning and conservation requirements with the changing needs of a child who requires constant care and assistance, her family and carers. Designed with the child’s parents, occupational therapist, Julia Taylor, and the family’s care team, the design will transform the family home to better meet the child’s complex needs while allowing flexibility as they grow and their requirements change. The project has been designed around the needs of the whole family, creating a home that supports specialist care while providing comfortable, flexible spaces for everyone to enjoy together.
