RIBA Yorkshire Project Architect of the Year 2017. Adam is a design champion and an authority on technical issues within the office. He has oversight of the full breadth of Studio Partington design work including low-energy houses, public and community buildings, mixed-use developments, offices and urban design. Notably, Adam has led the development of two ambitious award-winning sustainable housing developments in York: Derwenthorpe and the Chocolate Works developments. Adam coordinates a number of housing projects for Islington Council including Andover Estate. Adam also led on Greenfields House headquarters and housing centre in Braintree and Clay Collegeschool of ceramics in Stoke-in-Trent.
Colin Davis - Director
Colin is an experienced architect who has been involved at Studio Partington since its formation in 1998, during which time he has completed a large number of significant residential, commercial, and masterplanning projects. As general manager, Colin is responsible for the strategic management of procedures and systems, business planning, finance and quality assurance. Colin was lead director for Putney Plaza £33m mixed-use, mixed-tenure high-rise scheme in South London completed in 2016. Colin is currently leading on the construction of Hox Park, Runnymede, Surrey student housing.
Director & Practice Manager
Victoria has been involved with Studio Partington since 2001; administering and managing all aspects of the practice, supervising the financial affairs and internal organisation. Victoria has acquired extensive experience in supervising numerous contracts and provides project management and coordination for a variety of projects. This includes administering the documentation for project appointments and building contracts. Victoria has contributed to the content, design, production and delivery of a number of our publications and guides including: 'The advantages of new homes', which features Victoria's illustrations of older homes. Originally trained in fashion and textiles design, illustration and printmaking, Victoria was awarded a Masters in Sustainable Textiles Design from Chelsea College of Arts
Richard is founder of Studio Partington and has expertise in low-energy design through research projects, urban planning and architecture. Since Studio Partington's creation in 1998, Richard has led a number of exemplar projects, such as Parkmount in Belfast. Recent work includes the widely-published and multi-award winning Derwenthorpe in York for the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust and Howden Urban Extension in Yorkshire. Richard is co-editor of RIBA Publishing book ‘Better Buildings – learning from buildings in use’. He has written a series of NHBC Foundation best practice guides, most recently ‘Futurology: the new home in 2050’. Richard is expert advisor to the Ministerial Advisory Group in Northern Ireland. Richard notably co-chaired the Zero Carbon Hub's 'Design vs As-Built' steering group, set up to investigate the performance gap.
Marielle joined Studio Partington in 2010 with qualifications in both Architecture and Environmental Design and Engineering from the University of Miami and UCL. Marielle has contributed to research commissions including NHBC Foundation guides to the Building Regulations Part L and Part F and ‘Understanding Overheating’ in the ‘where to start’ publications series. Marielle worked on the Chocolate Works, an ambitious housing development on a strategic site in York. Marielle gained RIBA Part 3 and was made an Associate in 2017. Recently, Marielle was project architect for two community-led projects: Holmewood House School extension within strict planning constraints; and Golden Lane Community Centre listed building refurbishment for the City of London Corporation.
Suzanne has worked at Studio Partington since 2005, becoming an Associate in 2017. Suzanne oversees the marketing and promotion of Studio Partington and has contributed to varied publications, including: Joseph Rowntree Foundation TAPguides; rewriting Part L1B for Wales; NHBC Foundation ‘Homes through the Decades’; and NHBC Home User Guide. Suzanne has worked on a variety of housing projects: School House Yard in Woolwich; three infill houses for Islington Council at Morton Road; and Landells Road terrace in East Dulwich. Recently, Suzanne has lead Woodham Place Passivhaus apartments for older people in Woking and the refurbishment and extension of a listed building on Swanage Pier. Suzanne studied at the University of Cambridge and Kingston University, traveling to the University of Auckland on exchange.
Nick is not only a chartered architect, he also completed a Degree in Landscape Architecture. Since joining Studio Partington in 2007, Nick has gained experience of a variety of residential and commercial projects. Nick worked on the landscaping and master plan for Howden Urban Extension in East Yorkshire; Putney Plaza in South London; and Telfer House for Islington Council. Nick is currently lead Associate for Hox Park student housing in Runnymede, Surrey responsible for delivering this sizeable scheme, which is now nearing handover. Nick is also leading the team working on the Technical Design stage for Andover Estate. Nick studied at Kingston University and was entered for the RIBA President's Silver Medal in 2007 for his Twickenham Cider Mill project.

Fully qualified architect and BREEAM Accredited Professional Kevin joined Studio Partington in 2012, and has since worked on the detail and environmental design of Putney Plaza, and several smaller residential schemes in south London. Kevin has travelled extensively in Europe and North America, and has both studied and worked in New York. Prior to joining SP, Kevin worked for OMS Architects in Dublin, notably as project architect on the phase II of a €30m retail development.
Fabienne joined Studio Partington in 2016, having gained a Masters of Architecture from Plymouth University, where she graduated with distinction and was nominated for the RIBA President's Silver Medal. Fabienne has primarily worked on the Chocolate Worksambitious housing development in York for David Wilson Homes. She has also worked on several planning applications in London: Hathersage and Besant Courts estate renewal for Islington Council, Islington Arts Factory for City of London Corporation and Brixton Hill for TLS Investments. Fabienne is also helps with administration and practice management making sure that everything is running smoothly. She recently successfully completed the Bristol UWE RIBA Part 3 course.
Sally joined Studio Partington in September 2016 as an experienced RIBA Part 2 Assistant, having been involved with large-scale, urban and estate regeneration residential projects in London. Sally recently qualified as an architect after completing the Examination in Professional Practice at London Metropolitan University. She is part of the team working on construction drawings for Runnymede Campus and is also preparing a planning application for the final part of the Derwenthorpe master plan. Sally studied at the University of Edinburgh and Oxford Brookes University and was nominated for the RIBA President's Silver Medal in 2014. She recently began weekly art and portraiture classes with the Royal Drawing School.
Maria joined Studio Partington in 2016 as an experienced RIBA Part 2 Assistant, having worked on various commerical and residential schemes in London. At Studio Partington Maria has worked on a planning application for Hathersage and Besant Courts estate renewal for Islington Council and Brixton Hill in South London for private developer TLS Investments. She is currently project architect for the Construction stage of Mina Road just off the Old Kent Road in South London also for TLS Investments. Maria studied at the University of Plymouth and Canterbury School of Architecture, UCA. In 2017 Maria gained RIBA Part 3 qualification from The Bartlett, UCL. As a RIBA Part 1 Assistant Maria worked for the Hellenic Ministry of Culture on listed and UNESCO protected historic public projects in her homeland Rhodes, Greece.
Ed joined Studio Partington in August 2015 as an experienced RIBA Part 2 Assistant. Ed worked on Golden Lane Community Centrelisted building refurbishment for City of London Corporation, seeing the project through from feasibility to completion of construction. Ed was also involved with the Technical Design stage for Hox Park student accommodation in Runnymede, Surrey. Recently, Ed has worked on several planning applications: Brixton Alms Houses and Great Arthur House for City of London Corporation and Ilderton Road in South London for TLS Investments. Ed gained his BSc from The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL and his Diploma and RIBA Part 3 qualification from The Cass, London Metropolitan University.
Hannah joined Studio Partington in September 2013, having graduated from the University of Nottingham with a MEng in Architecture and Environmental Design. Hannah qualified as a Passivhaus Designer in 2015 and has worked on Woodham Place Passivhaus apartments planning application for Greenoak Housing Association. Recently, Hannah has been working on Derwenthorpecentral area homes adjacent to the Energy Centre. She has also worked on the Chocolate Works and Holmewood House School in addition to writing the Development Brief for an extension to Copmanthorpe. Hannah achieved a Diploma from The Cass, London Metropolitan University in August 2017.
Since joining Studio Partington in 2013, Stuart has worked on a variety of projects at different scales and across all RIBA stages, including Putney Plaza, Park Farm and the Chocolate Works. Stuart recently worked on two projects for Islington Council: Windsor Street, a supported housing scheme for adults with learning difficulties, which won planning approval at committee, and Hathersage and Besant Courts large estate regeneration planning application. Stuart is currently part of the team working on the Technical Design stage of Andover Estate, also for Islington Council. Having studied a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Norwich School of Arts, Stuart then undertook his RIBA Part 1 at Kingston University.
Mehmet joined Studio Partington in July 2018 as a RIBA Part 1 Assistant, having recently graduated with a BA in Architecture from Kingston University, London. Mehmet is helping with the Technical Design stage for Andover Estate, where he lived for a couple of years as a small child.
Fay joined Studio Partington in October 2017 as a RIBA Part 2 Assistant. Fay gained her BArch from Southeast University, China and her MPhil in Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Cambridge, where she conducted a design/research project on high-density affordable housing in Shanghai, China. With her previous experience at UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Paris and Urban Think-Tank, ETH Zurich, Fay has developed an interest in urban regeneration in historical context. She is currently undertaking her Part 3 course in University of Westminster.
Amrit joined Studio Partington in August 2018 as a RIBA Part 2 Architectural Assistant. Amrit graduated with her BA(Hons) from the University of Creative Arts,and her MArch in Architecture from the University of Greenwich, where she developed her interest in retail and commercial architecture and pop culture’s relationship to Architecture. Professionally, as a Part 1 Assistant, Amrit had previous experience in residential, education and leisure projects.
Simon joined Studio Partington in September 2018 as an RIBA Part 2 Assistant, having completed his MArch at Central Saint Martins in London. He gained experience in large scale housing during his Part 1 professional practice, which developed his interest in architecture on an urban scale. During his time at university he explored architecture’s role in addressing environmental issues through urban systems. He also has a keen interest in the act of making.
